I'm a mostly self-taught artist and illustrator based in Rhode Island USA. I started my freelance illustration career in 1992 when I left a position as associate art director at PC Week magazine in Boston to start my own business. My illustration clients have included Time-Life Publications, National Geographic Society, the Washington Post, Oxford University Press and many other magazines and trade publications. I think of my illustration style as “visual haiku” — a spare approach where every element of the design adds to the overall meaning, not much decoration, and often a lot of white space. I strive to make a picture that is an easy read at first glance, but possesses a certain something that calls the eye back for a second look. Please get in touch if the work you see here looks like it could be a match for your project!
