Emma Cowlam is a graduate of Chelsea School of Art in London. As part of the degree course she was awarded one of the college’s highly competitive exchange placements to the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. This is where she followed her lifelong fascination and passion for drawing by enrolling in an illustration class, where it was confirmed that illustration was most definitely the career to pursue. Emma has developed and evolved a beautiful illustration style by taking inspiration from the everyday images observed throughout daily life and transforming them into lasting snapshots. Her work is sophisticated, stylish, elegant and aspirational. She is endlessly inspired by traditional fashion illustrations yet draws with a contemporary, realistic twist. She has built up a diverse portfolio and now completes a wide variety of freelance illustration work for both private and commercial clients. Emma has won a number of prestigious awards for her work which include gold awards from Homes & Gardens, Country Homes & Interiors and House Beautiful magazines.
