New York-based illustrator Adam Koon has established himself with a bold, graphical style that incorporates a mixture of interesting characters, strong and original typography, and an intriguing way of layering real media textures that look just like chalk or pastel on rough paper stocks. His unique approach has won him major clients that include some of America’s biggest brands. While he lived in St Louis, Adam took part in a major Budweiser campaign celebrating the Cardinals baseball team. Drawing inspiration from 1950s astronauts, screen-printing and artists like Keith Haring and Mary Blair, mid-century modern is the aesthetic Adam likes to play with. He loves the work of contemporary counterparts including Tad Carpenter, Invisible Creature and Delicious Design League. When he’s not in the studio, his passions include cycling, cross fit, running and travel, and he has embraced the fully vegan diet. Adam also loves improv comedy.
