Profile
JULINU (Julian Mallia) is a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and fine-artist specialising in meticulously-executed visual ideas. Using both traditional and digital media, his most representative work is typically concept-driven, characterised by atmospheric and surreal imagery and occasionally laced with dry humour. Julinu has been awarded at the coveted AOI World Illustration Awards (UK) in 2016, was shortlisted in 2015 and 2017 and has received Honorable Mentions by 3×3 Mag (US) in 2019. His work has featured in various local and international media platforms and was also included in “The Power and Influence of Illustration”, a book about contemporary illustration published by Bloomsbury UK in 2019. Originally a psychology graduate he now combines a range of skills to create thought-provoking imagery for advertising, animation, publishing and editorial contexts.
