George Amaru is a designer and illustrator. In the illustration field, George has become known for his uncanny ability to capture the likenesses of his subjects, whether they are celebrities or his clients’ loved ones. He gained notoriety in this area from countless private commissions and his covers for independent comic publisher, Bluewater Productions. George began his career in 2007, with a few small illustration projects for private collectors and with some design work for the Martial Arts competition circuit, IPPONE. He debuted on the national stage as a contestant in 2010’s “Small Press Idol” competition and began working as an artist for the Irish publisher Wolfman Productions International, as they began catering to a worldwide audience. In 2011, he began working with independent publisher GrayHaven Comics, collaborating with writer Erica Heflin on a short story in the ninth volume of the publisher’s anthology series, “The Gathering.” In early 2013, George took the reins as artist on the fan-favorite webcomic series, “New Comic Day,” completing over 70 weekly strips during his first run on the strip.
