animation of Tv identity for a culture chanel. Included animations such as: broadcast announcements, interludes, bumpers & openings. A mix of geometrical hand cut-outs and photographic collages of Polish cultural figures -poets, writers and actors from the interwar period - was paired with custom made typography.
animation of The dedicated typo was created from hand cut-out letters and then developed as a font called ‚Mieczyslav’. Font is used in the whole TV chanel identity. Inspired by the golden age of Polish avant-garde, the concept is centred around the pre-WWII times and the typography seen in propaganda posters.

The animation features the Alex Urban engraving. I've painted the sequences of a worm and created the title lettering as well. The title was made from the finger painting straight onto paper.

animation of TV and digital Launching campaign of VOGUE Poland. The campaign showcased that Vogue is not solely a fashion magazine, but is about all aspects of culture, therefore I was asked to illustrate my impression of a woman. Everything was hand painted (including the stop-motion animation frames) retaining my authentic line.

Profile

llustrator, painter. Born in 1988 in Sopot, Poland, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2011. In 2018, she created the visuals for Vogue magazine's launch in Poland. As an art director and designer, she created the last two visual identities for TVP Kultura, a cultural television channel operated by the Polish Broadcasting Corporation. Julia is a long-term collaborator of the National Library in Warsaw and is responsible for the visual identity of their annual book fair 'Imieniny Jana Kochanowskiego' and Polona, the digital extension of the Library's collections. She also designed the opening credits and festival posters for the award-winning movies by Agnieszka Smoczynska - 'The Lure' & 'Fugue’. Julia's work is often focused on posters, press illustrations, animations and music cover art. Most of her artworks are handmade, often stylised like analogue paper cut-outs, rich in elements with brush strokes and hand-drawn typography. Her clients include the likes of National Opera in Warsaw, Warner Music Poland, Documentary and Feature Film Studios (WFDiF), Przekrój Magazine, National Film School in Lodz, Polish Filmmakers Society and POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, among many others. Awards: 4x Silver Sword in 2014 and 2015 at KTR Awards for Best Illustration Project of the Year in 2013 at KTR Awards for Best Illustration KTR Awards are the most important Polish advertising & creative competition.
