Shawn Finley is an illustrator and designer specializing in picture books, packaging and character design. Influenced by comic books, animation and pop art, Shawn’s work is often bold and graphic, but sometimes employs a more painterly look as well. He is proud to have recently worked with IKEA on their Lattjo book series, and with DreamWorks Press on their Baby Po, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon picture books. He has developed original characters for Burger King and Shire, and also worked with numerous ad agencies, educational publishers and manufacturers. Shawn earned his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Judson University in 1991, and illustrated his first picture book The Boo Baby Girl Meets the Ghost of Mable's Gable in 1992. Besides illustration, Shawn has also written graphic novels, designed books and food packaging, taught graphic design, and produced numerous paintings, most recently exhibiting at Rotofugi Gallery in Chicago. He lives and works in Woodbury, MN.
