Profile

I’m a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts, with a long and varied experience in visual arts, illustration, comics and graphic design. I have created an artist’s book, two published comic stories, several theatre posters and logos and I illustrate the Greek literary magazine “Βόρεια - Βορειοανατολικά”. My work moves between realism and a rather expressionistic, grotesque manner with an intense psychological background. I like elements of fun, elegance and brutality, demonstrated by painterly qualities combined with linear, sketchy, sometimes primitivish ones. My drawings are worked over time and carefully developed to their final form which sometimes involves the dynamism of the draft and accidental elements such as smudges, splashes or torn paper, used in an imaginative way. I’m interested in (and draw inspiration from) social and political satire, psychology and literature.
