Ella Tjader spent her childhood drawing and painting princesses in puffy dresses and antiquity sculptures, while attending various art classes. While studying Graphic Design, she fell in love with Adobe Illustrator and created her first illustration portfolio. Signed by leading illustration agency, over the next 16 years, she successfully acquired a worldwide clientele specialising in beauty, nature and lifestyle illustrations for advertising, editorial, packaging and publishing. Feminine, elegant, modern, detailed, intricate, loose and light, Ella’s style is usually based around line work. She also creates surface designs - seamless patterns and prints. Since 2020, Ella has been working independently. Her select clients as well as collaborations include: Confiserie Sprüngli, Toyota USA, Globus, Vogue Japan, Victoria's Secret, Bongénie-Grieder, Schweizer Familie Magazin, Hugo Boss, RAPP LA, Ma Vie, Bunte, C&A, BBH London, Penguin Books and many more. Ella has been featured in Werbewoche (Advertising week portal) - she has been included in their 2018 list of leading Swiss illustrators. Her work appeared in Taschen Illustration Now!, Big Book of Fashion Illustration and in The Age of Feminine Drawing. Ella loves rain, walking in the woods, and reading moody Scandinavian crime novels, which she somehow finds life affirming. She hates roller coasters. Ella lives in Zurich, Switzerland with her husband, their two children and two cats.
