Memory of Me

Self-portrait concept pulling inspiration from many different cultural influences over the course of my life. First Nations, Asian cultures, kitsune, foxes, dreams... A school project over the course of about 5 weeks. Graphite pencil, 12 x 12.

Reindeer Knight

A knight concept for fun and armor practice. Much inspired by Dark Souls, Dragon Age, and Game of Thrones... I have a sneaking suspicion that this knight is female -- which is why I used reindeer antlers. (Female reindeer also grow antlers, and keep them longer into the winter than males.)

Geralt of Rivia

A school project for a magazine mock up. While the subject matter could be anything "cutting edge", I went with gaming and picked one I'm very much looking forward to...

Magick Lives Forever

In an attempt to fight off the feeling that a little too much magic has gone out of the world this week, I drew this tribute to David Bowie (as Jareth the Goblin King in Labyrinth) and Alan Rickman (as Severus Snape from Harry Potter). We'll miss you, guys.

Riverwind

Several years back I did a piece of a Native American-inspired centaur named Whitefeather (she is the beauty on my branding). I promised I'd do another one sooner or later... and then I started going to Dawson... So it took me about 3 years to get around to this guy, but I think he's all the better for the wait!

Binary Oppositions

Editorial illustration for an arts/sciences article at Dawson College. The title refers to a pair of mutually exclusive terms, of which I played on the symbolism: warm/cold, male/female, yin/yang, sun/moon... http://space.dawsoncollege.qc.ca/explorations/article/binary_oppositions_useful_literary_weeds

Jazzoo Poster

A school project for a theoretical opening show for Granby Zoo, combining 'jazz' and 'zoo'. The prompt was broad enough to include any animal and any instrument, as long as the composition was interesting. I decided on a symmetrical composition with a raccoon perched atop a bass cello turning into a tree, and subtle details of keyboard stripes on its tail. Adobe Illustrator.
