Eric the Spiderplant

Biography

I was born in Dorset but have lived most of my life in a village in Staffordshire. I have been drawing for longer than I can remember. I began signing my work as ‘Eric’ for pure mischief as a student. I had a spider plant of that name at the time. I graduated with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design from Birmingham Polytechnic in 1985. Since then I have handled design and artwork for offset litho, digital and screenprinting including logos, brochures, stationery, illustration and photo retouching. Any size from labels a few millimeters across to large format graphics for stage and conferences. My clients include small and national companies, local government, health authorities, charities and churches. My work experience led to developing drawing and painting for print into digital illustration. I generally use a pen and pixel approach where line drawings are scanned in and completed in Photoshop.  My spare time usually involves church, model making, reading and Land Rovers.
