Jungle Drop

illustration of The Making Of A Clown is a grunge composition that utilizes multiple textures and to an extent, vintage ephemera. The inspiration was Depression era circuses and carnivals that traveled across the country. Although generally looked down upon, escaping one’s problems, and breaking the chains so to speak, sometimes made these events a necessary evil.
Next illustration of This kitchen illustration was created for a cookbook and features some interesting elements. The plant vines and ivy decoration are custom Illustrator brushes, created from some original vector illustration work. Watercolor brushes were used for some of the textures; however, the fried chicken texture was a multi-layered illustration created in Photoshop, just for this piece. The triadic color scheme creates an overall cool illustration, with some warmth and a touch of contrast.
