"Going home" is part of an ongoing series of graphite drawings evolved from the subject of "mortality". The series expresses in a surrealistic composition the aging process we all go through.
In this drawing an old NYC Brownstone serves as an entrance, a doorway back home, surrounded by a forest to indicate "Heavens door".
The dry, cracked soil represents age and lifelessness... the elderly man is ready to pass on.
