Fall Trail

illustration of I chose Scratchboard to do a portrait of Albert Einstein. I love the intense drama that can be created by the white lines etched into the board that help define the hi lights  and shadows. The drawing began as a detailed pencil drawing, then art was transferred to the scratchboard where a transition of the drawing is done in reverse, where what was black is going to be white. Next illustration of I was commissioned by Country Life to create a painting for a holiday card. I chose to do a watercolor. They wanted me to include all their product logos in the image. I presented a drawing where I integrated their logo art as part of a winter scene from inside. The corporate icon/logo appears as a step and repeat pattern on a throw/blanket while their Desert Essence logo appears on the pillows. Long life Teas appears as their packaging alongside a cup of tea.

Holiday Card
