Brief: To create 9 original 'illuminated'-style letters for each play of the Season based upon the themes of each play and incorporating a letter from the name of the play. Also one other 'illuminated' style letter was created for 'The Word is God' (the name & theme of the Season) which incorporated elements from all 9 plays. Completed in traditional method: inked by hand with a calligraphic nib & black ink on water colour paper. Colour added digitally afterwards.

It has been getting some very nice reviews and i was hired to come up with an image for this movie about Irish construction workers living and working in New York facing their daily ups and downs. The image pays homage to the famous vintage photo of construction workers taking lunch high above New York skyline.
