I created these illustrations for an article by Ed Yong about how the pandemic made it clear that science touches everything, and everything touches science. I used tarots as a metaphor for the complexity and chaos of the pandemic issue. I preferred to let the tarots themselves speak. So, I created 12 different tarots. I used “The Pandemic” instead of the card “The fool” represented by a fool’s hat over the world to underscore how the pandemic hasn’t just been a science story.”

When Coors came out with its TV Spot “Coors Light Train” it was a big hit. Because of this, they wanted to create an accompanying Point of Sale and POP experience. After making the iconic images for the print campaign, we created a concept involving a life-size train made from a flatbed truck that traveled around the US hosting experimental events inside it.

Electric Images

We love creating realistic images that can’t be created using photography, using 3D imagery to create something which doesn’t exist..but you wish it did! For the Beer Island image, we wanted to create a fantasy scene which was fun, believable and nice to look at. We thought a beer bottle shaped island would be a great image, with the Heineken label making a perfect swimming pool. All elements, including the sea, boats, palm trees and people are created using 3D and rendered realistically.

I’ve been producing record covers and t-shirt designs for Brighton rockabilly band the Long Tall Texans since the mid-1980s and they’ve always been a real joy to work on. This mini-album was their most recent release and the brief for the cover, as ever, consisted of little more than the title. The rest was left up to me. I’m pretty familiar with the group and the type of imagery appreciated by their fanbase by now but even so, that’s a very open spec compared to most illustration jobs.

Mural commission for renovated pedestrian underpass. The Tunnelers—a badger, a groundhog, several worms, and other assorted critters—are all travelers or makers of subterranean passageways. Whatever our pecking order or business, even the hungry owls and tempting moles have to tolerate each other while in transit.

Zealot's Heart Label Illustrated by Steven Noble

Previous Image Title

Steven Noble

Love Creative commissioned the award-winning artist Steven Noble to create the label illustration. His scratchboard style was perfect for a story of obsession. Steven uses this engraving technique to create precise, highly detailed images. With scratchboard, as with the pursuit of perfection in gin, the artist gradually carves away the dark to reveal the light.
