For more than 20 years, April Hartmann has been a professional illustrator and designer. Her illustration style combines hand-painted patterns with clean vector art to create a design that is both inviting and sophisticated, an eye-catching option for products, packaging, editorial, greeting cards, gifts, children's books, labels, toys and games. She has worked with a variety of clients, including McDonalds, Keebler, Petsmart, Kraft, Quaker, Midas, Sears, Build-a-Bear Workshop, Harcourt Brace, McGraw-Hill, Pearson Education, Simon & Schuster, Houghton Mifflin, Ogilvy & Mather, and Andersen Consulting. She earned her BFA in Illustration at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. April is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and also the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators. A wife and mother of 3, April enjoys living in the beautiful hills of western Pennsylvania. When she's not at the drawing table, she's usually involved in some other creative task like writing, decorating, or testing recipes to get her family to eat more vegetables.
