Profile

Doug is an architectural assistant and illustrator currently working in London. Graduating in 2015 from the Bartlett School of Architecture, London, he draws on architecture and scale in his illustration. His drawings explore many small narratives and experiment with colourful and highly detailed compositions of surreal and fantastical architecture. His main inspiration comes from the comic books of Franco-Belgian sci-fi alongside the grit and atmosphere of vintage science fiction concept art. He enjoys working on the details within larger pieces, drawing tiny details and stories to capture the imagination of the viewer and draw them into the artwork. Previous clients include: New York Times Bao The London Magazine Courier Magazine The Building Centre Pitchfork Wired UK Robb Report Reliefs The World of Interiors Radio Times Awards: SOM Foundation Fellowship 2015 RIBA Bronze Medal High Commendation RIBA Donaldson Medal Winner Bartlett School of Architecture Medal Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment Medal Victor Kite Prize for Design Technology 2014
