Watercolor botanical art for the Celebrating Silver Exhibitioin

illustration of A watercolor exploration of two small botanicals for the American Society of Botanical Artists's Celebrating Silver collection. This was my first real attempt at a pure watercolor approach to botanical painting.

Tybee Island Peach Daiquiri, St. Patty's Irish Coffee, Debutant's Downfall Chocolate Martini, Praline Iced Coffee, and Spirited Sweet Tea.
illustration of This was a personal project that began when I was studying typography. I rendered each letter/symbol traditionally with a dip quill in ink. My goal was to depict botanical accuracy in each species of tree that the design is based on. A for Apple, B for Birch and so on.

I'm really happy with how they turned out and it seems to me that they are dying to be licensed. A nice tea towel or a throw pillow maybe?
illustration of A series of spot illustrations created to accompany an article-turned-infographic. The copy discussed the various kinds and benefits of chocolate and introduced the recently unveiled Ruby Chocolate to accompany the ranks of Dark, White and Milk Chocolate.

These illustrations were rendered in gouache and painted from direct observation for detail and accuracy. I love painting sweets!
