I’ve been in the advertising industry as a multi-faceted creative for most of my working life. Within this context, I’ve been exposed to more art, design, illustration, music, film and countless other forms of creativity one could ever think possible. While it’s been incredibly inspiring to be surrounded by this, the spark actually ignited long before any career. My fascination with art and illustration probably began in earnest with the 60’s and 70’s era psychedelic poster art, with its fluid typography and incredibly detailed artwork. From an early age I was also influenced by the surrealist masters like Dali and Magritte, as well as crossing over into the sci-fi realms with the bio-mechanical works of HR Giger of ‘Alien’ fame. Other eras and realms I’m drawn to include Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Cubism and Modern Art, as well as Russian constructivist design and poster art in general. The list of influences goes on and on. I take these bits of inspiration wherever they come from, consciously or unconsciously, throw them in a blender and just let my imagination run wild to see what kind of f*ed up stuff extrudes from it. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy. Let’s chat about how I can help with your next project.
