Katherine Blackmore

Profile

Katherine is an Artist who grew up in a loving family of makers. One of eleven children (she's #8), her artwork is innately inspired by her joyful childhood. Her style has been called 'realistic cute'; she works traditionally, mainly with watercolors, graphite and charcoal pencil. Her professional career spans over thirty years of illustrating, animating, and teaching. Katherine’s work has been featured in products for American Greetings, animated feature films for Disney (screen credits include: Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Brother Bear). Her illustrations have been published in several children’s picture books for such clients as Scarletta Press, B&H Kids Publishing, Treasure Bay, Akashic Books, Good Night Our World Books . She currently teaches art to kids in the Creative Core Art Program, which she founded. She lives in Orlando with her husband, Eric, and enjoys being “Auntie Kathy” to sixty+ nieces and nephews.
