Profile

Emmylou Smith is a U.S.-based illustrator and fine artist with a B.F.A. and M.A. in Illustration. She has a background teaching foundation art courses at a community college, as a graphic designer, and experience working as a corporate art coordinator and prepress technician. She now works as a freelance Illustrator and exhibits her watercolor paintings in art galleries around the U.S. She starts digitally creating thumbnails, line art, and color comps before starting each watercolor painting. She often paints over her watercolor paintings for a polished and print-ready feel. Her experience and flexibility between the two mediums allows her to quickly and efficiently meet clients' requests and deadlines.
