Biography

Aad Goudappel lives and works in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) as a freelance illustrator. He translates complex ideas and abstract themes into clear and powerful images. The resulting images seem simple at first sight, but usually contain multiple layers. Aad Goudappel's recognizable style is at the same time contemporary and timeless. His artwork received honors from Society of Illustrators (including Silver Medal), 3x3 (including Gold and Bronze Medal), American Illustration, Communication Arts, and 200 Best illustrators Worldwide. Aad Goudappel obtained a Bachelor of Art at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and in addition followed courses at Camberwell College of Art in London (UK) and the Art Institute in Boston (USA). His artwork is broadly used in all forms of communication: editorial, institutional, advertising and children's books.
