Kamishibai came from a story my friend, Maki shared with me a few years ago. Kamishibai is a traditional form of storytelling in Japan in the 1920s to early 1950s. The storyteller & sweet seller rides the bike from town to town, drawing young audiences. The storyteller uses wooden clappers to gather the crowd, also to build tension while telling stories. *Storyteller, kamishibai, bike, portrait, sculpture, sweets, girl.
