The orchid Angraecum sesquipedale was observed in Madagascar by Darwin who predicted the existence of a moth with a tongue at least 30cm long in charge of the orchid pollination. Such moth was only found and described many years after that prediction. This image was commissioned by the Gulbenkian Foundation Museum to include in an exhibition that celebrates the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin.
