Cover for The New York Times, Dealbook section

illustration of Longlisted for the Folio Book Illustration Award 2022. The topic required to illustrate a scene from the short story,

The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe.

I chose the last scene to describe. Since the story emphasizes black and red, I focused more on simple colors but heavy textures.

Red Death is the dignified and eye-catching figure in this image. The main topic is: Just like a clock striking twelve, death treats the world equally as well as time.
Next illustration of his is a hypothetical book cover illustration I did for the New York Times bestseller, Keep It Moving,

wrote by one of the world’s legendary artists Twyla Tharp.
