On the same heartbreaking day that Paul McCartney announced the breakup of the Beatles, Barclay Tucker made his appearance into the world. From an early age Barclay had lofty goals. First, he wanted to be Goofy when he grew up. From there he moved on to Superman and then to Moses. After realizing these jobs were unavailable, he briefly toyed with the idea of becoming a forest ranger. Eventually he came to the realization he wanted to be a teacher and drive a Volkswagen Beetle. He'd also realized how much he loved to draw. ​ After graduation from high school he served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the San Francisco Bay Area. He then attended the University of Utah where he studied art and began a career as a designer and illustrator. He later received a Master of Arts degree from Syracuse University, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hartford, Hartford Arts School. ​ Barclay's work has been described as subtle, quirky and having an off-beat sense of humor. He enjoys seeing people laugh - not the guffawing, boisterous type of laugh, but the quiet chuckle that comes with the slow, quiet realization that something is amiss or just odd. ​ Barclay continues to live his dream of teaching and drawing although he is still waiting for the VW Bug. He resides among the hills of The North East Kingdom in Vermont with his wife and four children. He teaches illustration, drawing, art history, and graphic design in the Department of Visual Arts at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon..
