Profile

Heather Gatley is a British illustrator currently based in Berlin. Her practice centers around observational drawing and handmade mark-making which she creates using a mixture of mediums, applying expressive washes of watercolour and ink to bring her loose reportage-style drawings to life. Heather’s harmonious style balances colour and gesture with an economy of line which allows the eye to fill in the gaps, lending an elegance to her work that has proved consistently popular with high-end brands and lifestyle clients. Much of Heather’s work has focused on people and places, and her love for travel, landscapes and architecture can be seen in the beautifully illustrated maps she has created for multiple clients over her career. Her lively food illustrations have adorned recipe books, packaging and several regular magazine columns.
