Profile
YUKO SHIMIZU illustrator, educator, and not-so-prolific-at-this-moment fine artist has been drawing ever since she could hold a crayon, but took a long time to actually become a professional artist. She studied marketing and advertising, and had worked in the field of PR in Tokyo, Japan for a very long time before she decided to go back to School of Visual Arts (New York, USA) to study at MFA Illustration As Visual Essay program. Now her long time hobby has became her job, she considers PR as her new hobby, and to teach illustration majors at SVA as a passion. Yuko creates her drawings at SHY Studio in Midtown Manhattan which she shares with two other artist friends, and secretly dreaming of getting a studio-parrot one day (or a dog, or a polar bear).
