Profile
Lisa is a Southern California-based illustrator who’s been making art professionally for two decades. In her career, she's created graphic novel adaptations of classic literature, book covers for young and middle-grade readers, character design and storyboards for animations, and textiles for human and dog apparel. Selected clients include Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, Scholastic, Disney, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Audible, Capstone Press, Image Comics, Graphic Classics, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, MTV Animation, PBS Kids, and Target. She also co-creates and illustrates the independent sci-fi/fantasy comic, HEX11, which earned a nomination for the Dwayne McDuffie Award for Diversity in Comics. In her style, Lisa looks for beauty in the grotesque and magic in the mundane. Born in New Haven, raised in Chicago, and educated in New York City, Lisa now lives and works in San Diego, California. She loves satire, cult movies, Victoriana, classic rock radio, and cherry-flavored fizzy water.
