Profile
Taili Wu is a New York based artist with a passion for playful design and tactile illustration. Born in the countryside of Taiwan, she grew up being chased by roosters, playing in corn mills, and admiring life-size trucks and excavators. Her work is rooted in her love and observation of animals and nature. This gives a unique personality and humor to her character design and animation. Taili’s work, sparks imagination, curiosity, and smiles (or a good laugh). Her process brings concepts to life through brainstorming, sketching, and design (both digital and physical). She excels at the set, props building, and animation, especially stop-motion and 2D. When not working solo or collaborating with stop-motion & 3D teams on character design or set build, Taili also works on independent projects. She particularly enjoys storytelling and explaining difficult concepts with handcrafted animation. Her favorite mediums are stop-motion & mixed-medium with recycled materials and everyday objects. Taili has worked on a variety of commercial projects as well as developing workshops and courses with educational organizations. She is currently a faculty member at the School of Visual Arts.
