illustration of The Elements (line, shape, size, space, texture, value, and color) are WHAT graphic designers use and the Principles (balance, rhythm, emphasis, and unity & variety) are HOW they use them. Included here are some Gestalt principles, like proximity, closure, symmetry, similarity, and figure & ground. Some words give a little hint as to their function or purpose. A few typesetting terms and a Grotesk alphabet sample round out the grungy, industrial theme. Companion to Type Lexicon.
